About the letter to the Boulder Commissioners

A couple of electeds (nameless for now) got upset that I did this interview. I thought the interview was balanced and I will never turn down a chance to advocate for residents if a reporter calls. Below is the email response I sent regarding them being unhappy:

So I resent the accusation that I sent the letter to the media. The letter is posted on a least one website that isn’t mine. I won’t apologize for speaking the truth – there was literally nothing that I said in the interview that was factually inaccurate.

AAAA called me on Thursday to discuss the letter. And whether you want to acknowledge it or not – we owe her a tremendous debt. She is the one that first floated the use State tax waiver with Polis, talked it over with Garnett, got a mechanical lien removed from a standing Superior homeowner, got Xcel out to look at XXXX’s gas meter (which was leaking), etc. I was returning the favor on Friday in light of her coverage of XXXX’s situation.

For some reason, we seem to be ignoring the actions of some commissioners to lobby in the background against use tax waivers and watering down SB206. Or that the County has illegally redacted the PPDR contract. I’ve specifically asked media contacts to not sue the county until after the cleanup is completed. So yeah – maybe you owe me a gratitude of thanks. But I’m not going to get on my soapbox and complain.
